I don’t think I’ve understood this quote more than I do now. To expect to be in a perfect relationship is unrealistic, and unfair to your partner. What you have to be aware of is that everyone will come to you with their flaws… What makes the difference is if you believe this person is worth loving despite their shortcomings.
Are you able to truly love who they are… As they are… And not how you think they should be?
If you spend most of your time wishing they were something else, you will find yourself disappointed time after time.
Your task: Check your expectations. Are you loving the person you have, or the person you believe them to be? Your answer may shed some light on why you’ve been suffering.
